While Dying Light: The Beast isn’t a full mainline entry to the franchise, it won’t be a short side affair, either, as players can expect it to be longer than most single-player games out today.

This isn’t even factoring in the multitude of side content players can chew through in Kyle Crane’s quest to extract revenge.

At the same time, Dying Light: The Beast’s game length won’t be as long as your typical open-world RPG, which is good news for gamers who don’t want to allocate 50+ hours to complete this standalone game for the Dying Light franchise.

Dying Light: The Beast Game Length Revealed, and It Hits That Sweet Spot

Dying Light: The Beast isn’t a full-fledged numbered entry in the franchise, nor is it an expansion. It’s a standalone experience that sits in between, and how long it takes to complete the game reflects that.

Recently, franchise director Tymon Smektala disclosed that “in terms of what you will play, the story’s 20 hours,” which seems like a good number for a spin-off, standalone game. However, for those who want a little bit more meat to their meal, you won’t have to worry about it that much, since if you factor in secrets and side content, it’ll add another “at least another 20, 30 hours,” which is a believable number if you played Dying Light 2.

This means that if you factor in the game’s main story and the additional side content, you’re looking at 20-50 hours of game time, which is nothing to sneeze at.
