While Genshin is a slow burn and a casual experience at its core, challenging content in Genshin Impact, like the Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theatre, which feature waves of enemies with lucrative rewards, are a big step-up in difficulty.
Unless you’ve spent primogems building a good collection of characters, these dungeons might be challenging to clear.
But don’t worry; these six Genshin Impact team compositions can help you rack up huge damage and finally clear the Spiral Abyss and enjoy all the bragging rights that comes with that.

I recommend using two Cryo characters to benefit from the Cryo elemental resonance, which increases your crit rate against enemies affected by Cryo.
I suggest choosing Mika because his abilities can buff your team’s attack speed and provide a physical damage bonus.
The key is to perform a rotation that debuffs enemies, switches to the main DPS like Razor or Eula, and focuses on dealing physical damage while Rosaria and Fischl trigger the superconduct reaction with Cryo and Electro, respectively.
With Electro and Cryo, you can trigger the Superconduct reaction that reduces enemies’ physical resistance.

Mono-element teams are very niche. However, they’re good against elemental enemies.
Suppose you’re facing a Hydro Tulpa; a Mono Pyro team will help you with reactions and melt it quickly.
However, I always suggest having an Anemo character to shred enemies’ Pyro resistance. Use the Viridescent Venerer artifact set on your Anemo character, like Kazuha or Sucrose.
With that, you’ll maximize the elemental damage against elemental enemies.
The Viridescent Venerer artifact set doesn’t work with Geo and Dendro elements.

You cannot shred enemies’ elemental resistance with the Viridescent Venerer artifact set, so having the Deepwood Memories artifact set is essential for Dendro teams.
With so many Dendro reactions, you can use a few Hydro, Electro, and Pyro characters to target specific Dendro reactions like Spread, Hyperbloom, Burgeon, or Aggravate.
Characters like Nilou and Kaveh focus on Bloom teams that deal insane damage to enemies in an area. However, you’re required to have healers since Bloom explosions can hurt your character.
That’s why, to form these teams, we focus on a specific Dendro reaction and use characters that complement it.

The key is to freeze the enemies with Cryo and Hydro applications and have a main DPS shred enemies to pieces.
I recommend using two Cryo characters to benefit from the extra crit rate from the elemental resonance buff. With enemies frozen in place, you can fire at will.
Group the enemies and use the AoE ultimate on them. Always have a healer if you don’t have enough Hydro and Cryo to tank incoming damage.
Lastly, you can always switch to a Mono-Cryo team to break Electro/Hydro/Pyro elemental shields from enemies.

Off-field DPS/Off-field DPS/Resistance Shred/Healer |
Taser teams are focused around one Catalyst character like Sucrose to shred enemies’ elemental resistance while having characters with unique elements in the team to boost damage.
You can have an extra healer on your team, but I suggest using a weapon that can heal your teammates, like the Prototype Amber.
The key to maximizing damage in these teams is to use characters that enhance your characters’ elemental damage or elemental mastery.
Elemental mastery increases the reaction damage.

Hypercarry teams focus on buffing your team’s main DPS with resistance shred, attack bonus, and passive healing.
Their rotations are strict, and fumbling a step or two can result in a significant DPS loss.
In these teams, you must couple the main DPS with characters that can fuel your main DPS’s passive and abilities. Look at your main DPS stats and choose a character accordingly.
For example, Raiden’s team consistently uses team members’ Elemental bursts to buff her damage.
