By now, possibly one of the worst-kept secrets in gaming is Ubisoft’s planned remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. Not only did a collectible maker associated with Ubisoft reveal it, but the game’s protagonist also confirmed it at an event.

While there’s still no official announcement by Ubisoft, the game’s Steam page has seemingly outed the improvements that will be baked in the upcoming remake.

What was revealed is most likely not the full list of improvements and any new additions that Ubisoft may decide to include, but it is a good indicator of where they’re going with it.

The Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Steam page update was spotted by X (formerly Twitter) user The Hidden One, who listed the new additions that were not part of the game’s original release, and these include:

• Custom Volume Controls
• Stereo Sound
• Surround Sound
• Mouse Only Option
• Adjustable Difficulty
• Save Anytime

Bear in mind that this is in no way official, so until Ubisoft announces anything, treat everything with a grain of salt. I would also be surprised if we didn’t receive new gameplay content beyond the technical improvements in the remake.

In terms of when we can expect this to be announced, the closest upcoming gaming event is gamescom set to kick off in August. Perhaps Ubisoft will take advantage of Gamescom Opening Night Live to unleash a new announcement? If so, the impact might be lessened because of the leaks, but given how Black Flag is considered to be one fo the best Assassin’s Creed game released, it’s one that many fans will welcome with open arms.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag was released in 2013 on consoles and PC, and received universal acclaim.
