Morgana is the first ally you gain besides Ryuji as you find yourself trapped in the dungeons of Kamoshida’s Palace.

This alliance quickly turns into friendship as you both find a common purpose in further exploring the metaverse and fighting shadows together. Let’s not forget that Morgana also starts living in your room as your pet cat.

If you are looking to max out your confidant rank with Igor, this guide is for you.

Since every action you take in Persona 5 Royal is accompanied by your trusty companion, it is only natural to be curious about how to max out Morgana’s Magician confidant as quickly as possible and discover all the perks and personas it will unlock for you.

Morgana’s Confidant Overview

Similar to Sae Niijima’s confidant, Morgana’s confidant starts and ranks up automatically as you progress through the story.

As this social link ranks up, you will unlock the basic mechanics of the game, such as the ability to craft infiltration tools and perform follow-up abilities.

Here, I have prepared a table enlisting all the perks you will unlock from this social link and their description.

Rank 3	Follow Up	Chance to perform a follow-up attack if Joker’s attack does not down the enemy.
Rank 4	Kitty Talk	If negotiations with an animal type Shadow fail, you can try again.
Rank 5	Pickpocket	Chance to obtain an item when Joker performs a melee attack.
Rank 6	Ace Tools	Allows you to craft all infiltration tools.
Rank 7	Harisen Recovery	Chance to cure status ailments inflicted upon party members.
Rank 8	Endure	Chance to withstand an otherwise fatal attack with 1HP remaining.
Rank 9	Protect	Chance to shield Joker from an otherwise fatal attack.
Rank 10	Second Awakening	Transform Persona into a mythological trickster.

While Morgana’s confidant is certainly unique, that doesn’t stop it from having some fantastic perks.

Once you reach rank 10, Morgana’s persona Zorro will transform into Mericurius, and you will be granted the Evade Electricity special skill. I would call this one of the best passive skills for Mercurius, as it will greatly increase your chances of evading Morgana’s one weakness.

Morgana’s persona will also undergo a second transformation into Diego, provided that you reach the secret Royal arc at the end of the game.

Ranking Up

As stated previously, the Magician’s confidant will rank up automatically as you progress through the story. You do not have to worry about clearing your schedule for specific days of the week and spending time with Morgana during that timeframe.

If you are looking to max out your confidant rank with Ichiko Ohya, this guide is for you.

Magician Personas And Bonuses

Morgana's final persona in persona 5 royal

Upon reaching the end of Morgana’s social link, you will gain the ability to fuse the ultimate Magician’s Persona, Futsunushi.

Let’s not forget that with each rank up, you will gain a greater persona XP bonus every time you obtain a Magician’s arcana persona through fusion.

If you are ever close to a rank-up date for Morgana’s confidant, I will recommend passing through that date first before crafting a new Magician’s arcana persona.

Surt has been my favorite endgame fire persona, not just in Persona 5 Royal but also in Persona 3 Reload and Persona 4 Golden.

His abilities, such as the Blazing Hell and Fire Amp, can stack up to be the most dangerous fire attack in the game.

Let’s not forget that Surt can also obtain the Evade Ice skill, which increases his chances to evade his one weakness threefold.

However, what truly makes Surt the ultimate fire persona is the Fire Lineage skill that gives you a chance on each turn to decrease his fire attacks’ SP cost by half.
