As we’ve expected since the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach panel at SXSW 2025 panel was announced, Kojima Productions has revealed the Death Stranding 2 release date, and it’s June 26, 2025,
The release date isn’t the only new bit of info we’ve gotten today, as there’s also a new 10-minute trailer that was shared, as well as just what the expensive Collector’s Edition will contain.

Death Stranding 2’s New Trailer Is Full Of Mysteries
Pre-orders for Death Stranding 2 will kick off on March 17, 2025.
While details on the story are scarce, Kojima snuck in something special for long-time fans. I don’t want to spoil it, but those who watch the trailer will see a character that looks very familiar to one of Kojima’s past works.
Just a few days ago, a rumor surfaced that said Death Stranding 2 will have a Collector’s Edition (same as its predecessor), and this was revealed at the event too. Now we know just what’ll be in it.

No price has been revealed for the Collector’s Edition, but expect it to hover around the $200-$250 range.

With Death Stranding 2’s release date now set for June, this frees up Sony’s holiday release window for something else. Could this slot be filled by Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima sequel, Ghost of Yotei? I wouldn’t be surprised if it was.
Of course, Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to be released during that timeframe, so it’s understandable if most video game publishers avoid releasing games near it, lest it gets swalloed whole by the vaccum GTA6 will inevitably create. Having said that, a majority of our readers still do not believe that Rockstar will be able to deliver on that date. Time will tell if they’re correct or not.
Death Stranding 2 will be available on June 26 exclusively on the PS5. Expect it to appear on PC a few months later. For reference, Death Stranding 1 was released in November 2019, and was ported to PC in July 2020.
