In Pokemon GO, players can take down powerful Pokemon in Raid battles. This is one of the easiest ways to get legendary Pokemon, rare Pokemon, shiny Pokemon, and more! The Raids aren’t always a piece of cake though, and some can give trainers real trouble if they’re not prepared.
Pokemon GO: March 2024 Raid Schedule
If you’re wondering what raids will be featured in Pokemon GO during March, we’ve got you covered!
The Primal versions of Kyogre and Groudon are key examples of this, with their Raid battles being among the most difficult! Primal Kyogre debuted in Pokemon GO way back in February 2023, but will be making its return to Raid battles for Primal Kyogre Raid Day on Sunday, March 17.
Best Counters For Primal Kyogre
Primal Kyogre is a Water-type legendary, which means it has a weakness in battle to Grass and Electric-type moves. These moves will both deal 160% of the normal damage to Primal Kyogre. There are plenty of Grass and Electric-type Pokemon and moves to choose from when going into battle against this titan, but players should avoid Water, Ice, and Steel-typings as those will do little to no damage to the Pokemon.
The tables below will list some of the best options currently in the game for players hoping to catch this defeat this Pokemon. The first table will list Mega Pokemon, but since players can only have one Mega Pokemon active at a time, the list will be shorter than the second table listing the best general Pokemon to bring into battle.

Can Primal Kyogre Be Shiny?
Primal Kyogre’s shiny form will be available! When players defeat one in battle, they will enter a catch encounter with the legendary Pokemon’s base form. Be sure to keep an eye out for Kyogre’s distinct pink coloration to know whether it is a shiny Pokemon or not.
All shiny legendary Pokemon have a 100% catch rate, so if a shiny Kyogre is encountered, it is best to use a Pinap Berry to secure some extra Candy.
How To Catch A Perfect IV Primal Kyogre
Kyogre will have two CP ranges that players should keep an eye out for if they are hoping to catch a perfect IV Pokemon. If there is a weather boost active at the time of battle (Rainy weather for Primal Kyogre), then the Pokemon’s CP range is 2825 to 2939, with the high end being perfect IV. If there is no weather boost active, the CP can range from 2260 to 2351, with the latter being a perfect IV. There is only a small chance that players will encounter a perfect IV Pokemon after a Raid battle, but it is possible!
Perfect IV CP for a non-weather boosted Kyogre is 2351. Perfect IV CP for a weather-boosted Kyogre is 2939.
