13 Game Releases For PS5, PS4 This Week July 29 to August 3

It’s another week, and that means another batch of games is releasing on the PlayStation Network. For the week starting July 28, a total of 13 games are scheduled to release on PS5 and PS4.

While there is no AAA release this week, there are still a handful of interesting titles, capped by one game perfect for those who want to sit back and chill, and the other is a stark contrast to it, as it will test your reflexes and patience.

Alongside these two games, there is a smattering of indies that are also worth checking out, since they could be the next big thing.

Games To Look Out For This Week:

Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game (PS5 – July 29) – If you ever wanted to sit back and chill living the life of a hobbit, this is the game for you. Instead of worrying about the One Ring, you just have to think about food and making sure your hobbit crib is pimped out.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound (PS5, PS4 – July 31) – 2D side-scrolling platformer that channels the classic but with a modern twist. This one should provide a solid challenge for action fans and the animation looks gorgeous too.

These two are undoubtedly the biggest games releasing this week, though there are more choices to be had with a racing game, a new Metroidvania and more.

Achilles Survivor (PS5, PS4 – July 29) – Achilles: Survivor is a fast-paced, single-player bullet heaven set in Ancient Greece. Play as Achilles – or one of the legendary souls freed from Tartarus – and face relentless waves of enemies. Build deadly structures, evolve your powers, and grow stronger with every run.

Day of the Shell (PS5, PS4 – July 29) – Day of the Shell is a fast-paced tactical roguelite, where each turn is played in a single click.

Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (PS5 – July 29) – Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap combines chaotic third-person combat with devious trap-laying strategy. Enjoy endless replayability as your War Mage grows stronger with every battle. Repel relentless orc hordes solo or with up to 4 players.

Cyber Clutch: Hot Import Nights (PS5 – July 30) – Cyber Clutch: Hot Import Nights is a high-intensity arcade combat racer built for competitive online play. 9 Years of Shadows (PS5, PS4 – July 21) – 9 Years of Shadows is a side-scrolling Metroidvania by Halberd Studios. Travel alongside Europa, a brave warrior determined to enter the mechanical giant Talos and stop the corruption within before it swallows the world in darkness. Battle through tainted creatures, meet charismatic musicians and uncover the truth behind the curse that robbed the land of all color.

Cook Serve Forever (PS5, PS4 – July 31) – Chop, stir, and sauté your way through the bustling solarpunk city of Helianthus. You play as Nori Kaga, a food cart chef aspiring to make it big like her role model, the Culinary Queen, Chef Rhubarb.

Hololive Holo’s Hanafuda (PS5, PS4 – July 31) – Hololive Holo’s Hanafuda is a modern take on the classic Japanese card game, hanafuda. In hololive Holo’s Hanafuda, you can battle it out with cards that feature original hololive member art!

Noctuary (PS5 – July 31) – Noctuary is a visual novel RPG that fuses rich storytelling, fast-paced action, and deep character progression. Step into the dual roles of Fancia Dream and Alina Nightsong, two bright-eyed Illuminators training to become legendary Arborangers – guardians of light in a world teetering on the edge of shadow.

Time Flies (PS5 – July 31) – In Time Flies, you’re a fly – your life is short, but your bucket list is long! Learn an instrument, read a book, become rich, get drunk, or make someone smile. And if you don’t feel like pursuing your goals, you can just relax, clean your wings, and listen to music. Make the best of the time you have left, because we’re all going to die.

Astral Takers (PS5, PS4 – August 1) – Revyse, a young man learning Summoning under Master Volgrim, encounters Aurora, a girl who has lost her memory. Beyond the pursuit await trials and encounters. Harness the awakened power of Summoning and confront formidable enemies.

Esophaguys (PS5 – August 1) -You are the Esophaguys, old folks with elongating necks! Stretch, bite, and swing yourself around in 1-4 player guttural mayhem, accompanied by the world’s first soundtrack featuring jews-harp music!

That’s about it for this week’s PSN releases. With Gamescom kicking off in August, expect releases to slow down somewhat before it ramps up for the big holiday rush.

In other PlayStation news, Sony has announced that a new PS5 firmware update is due to be released soon, adding several quality-of-life improvements.

When it comes to games, a recent job listing suggests that Sony may be preparing to release more titles on Xbox and Nintendo platforms.
