When the Nintendo Switch 2 was revealed, one of the big games confirmed for the upcoming console is Elden Ring, which Bandai Namco Entertainment has given the title of the “Tarnished Edition,” since it’ll feature more than the base game.

Aside from the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, the Tarnished Edition will feature new customization options and armor for Torrent. It was revealed today that it will also feature two new classes.

Tarnished Edition Content Will Be Available to Base Elden Ring Game Owners as DLC

At the FromSoftware Games Event Spring 2025 show held in Tokyo today, it was confirmed that the contents of the Tarnished edition will be available to base game owners as the “Tarnished Pack.”

Unfortunately, there’s no confirmation of a release date or even price for it, though we wouldn’t be surprised to see it released at the same time as the Tarnished Edition on the Switch 2.

For those keeping score, the Tarnished Edition will allow you to change the appearance of Torrent, four new types of armors, weap[ons and combat techniques, and two new classes. While there’s not a new area to conquer, it’s still a significant amount of content. I’m not expecting it to cost as much as the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which was a hefty $39.99. My best guess? Bandai Namco will price it at either $10 or $15 for base game owners. Is it worth it? You be the judge of that.

If you can’t wait for the Tarnished Pack to be released but want some Elden Ring content to chew on, the co-op-focused Elden Ring Nightreign will be released later this month, and same like its predecessor, it’ll feature a ton of bosses to drive you mad. While it’s not even out yet, a recent leak has confirmed that more character classes and bosses are in the cards post-launch.

Once we know when Elden Ring launches on the Switch 2 or how much the Tarnished Pack DLC costs, we’ll let our readers know. Elden Ring: Nightreign, meanwhile, will be released on May 30 on PS5, Xbox Series X}S and PC.
