Practical Pockets Treasure Map Location

Whenever I find myself in a new location, the first thing I like to do is to locate better armor, so I would have a better chance against the new enemy types.

Thankfully, this is where the Practical Pockets treasure hunt is a godsend as it offers the best light armor I have found so far while exploring the depressive region of Emerald Stair in Avowed.

Practical Pockets Treasure Map Location

You can obtain the Practical Pockets treasure map as soon as you set foot in the region of Emerald Stair. Simply head straight to the small city of Fior mes Iverno and talk to the merchant in the Gift Shop, located at the southern end of the city. You can purchase the treasure map for 660 coins.

Story spoilers ahead regarding what to do if you didn’t purchase the treasure map before a specific world event.

To not miss out on this quest, I recommend purchasing this treasure map before completing the Ancient Soil story quest, as Fior mes Iverno will be burned to the ground by the Steel Garrote upon completion of this quest unless you figure out the Steel Garrote plans before that happens and save Fior mes Iverno.

If you have missed the chance to purchase the map from the gift shop, you may be deprived of the quest, but you can still obtain the treasure reward.

Treasure Location

Once you have the map, head to the Ranger’s Headquarters, which is located just east of Fior mes Iverno and northeast of the Farmer’s Market. From there, let us start our journey from the beacon.

While facing the Ranger’s Headquarters beacon, proceed on the path heading north until you see tree stumps on your right. Head towards the tree stumps, then look back at the Ranger’s headquarters. You will see a spitting image of the drawing on the treasure map.

From there, keep heading east until you find the treasure chest in a small ditch near the pond. Loot the chest, and your quest will be finished.

Treasure Reward

Equipping the Hijilde's Handy Hide Light armor

The reward for this treasure hunt is a unique chest armor named the Hijilde’s Handy Hide that has already been upgraded to +2 Fine quality. Personally, this is the armor I started using as soon as I obtained it, due to the fantastic buffs it offers.

The Hijilde’s Handy Hide offers the All Seasons perk, which reduces upcoming Fire, Frost, and Shock damage by 10%. It also offers the Survivor perk, which gives you an extra +40 health on top of your maximum health.

In terms of stats, this armor offers:

10% Damage Reduction.
+22 Additional Damage Reduction.
-20 Maximum Stamina.
-20 Maximum Essence.

If you are the type of player who prefers Light armor and prioritizes the extra stamina and magic capabilities over defense, then the Hijilde’s Handy Hide is one of the best in the game.

It compensates for the lack of defense by giving you an extra +40 health.
