While the Emperor isn’t an active member in the current 40K lore, he is still the most important character to the lore of the universe and has laid the foundation for the entire universe that players now explore as the Rogue Trader.

Who Is The Emperor

The Emperor & Horus Facing Each Other

The Emperor of Mankind predates history itself, with him coming into being before recorded history when humanity was just on Earth. The Emperor was created when a group of shamans died and were reincarnated into one single being. After being born, the Emperor took the role of many historical figures throughout history, always guiding humanity until he eventually revealed himself to the rest of humanity as the powerful and immortal being he was.

The Emperor stands at 14 feet high and is a physically massive person. He is the strongest Psycher ever to exist by an incredibly wide margin, able to use his Psychic abilities to even alter his appearance and the world around him when needed. He wears golden armor, wields a massive flaming sword, and can easily defeat any enemy he faces in combat during his crusade throughout the galaxy.

Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader – How To Equip Different Weapon Types

There are many different weapon types to find and use in 40K Rogue Trader; here’s how to equip them on various characters.

The Emperor led humanity as the Emperor of Mankind for tens of thousands of years, growing the human race beyond just Earth and throughout the universe. The Emperor would go about creating most of the well-known and used technology that is still used thousands of years later, such as the bolt guns and the space marines. The Emperor saw humanity as superior to all the other species in the galaxy, leading to many wars against any group of Xenos encountered when trying to expand the human empire through what is now known as the Great Crusade.

Where Is The Emperor Now

The Emperor On The Golden Throne

Throughout the Emperor’s reign, he eventually created 21 sons called Primarchs, who would lead humanity under him. Eventually, the Emperor’s favorite son, Horus, would turn against his father and lead a revolt. This tore the Imperium of Man in half and would eventually lead to Horus dying but fatally wounding the Emperor. Now, the Emperor is on his golden throne with all sorts of life support, trying to keep him alive where he has been for around 10,000 years, while he is seemingly just a corpse.

Despite seemingly just being a corpse, the Emperor was, and still is the most powerful Psyker to ever exist. While still barely alive, he uses his Psychic abilities to shine a light in the warp that acts as a lighthouse for voidships to travel safely through the warp, indicating he is still alive in some way.

Despite his incredible power and status throughout human existence, the Emperor never wanted to be worshiped as a god. Since the revolt known as the Horus Heresy left him unable to move, speak, or communicate in any way, much of humanity has turned to worshiping the Emperor and his legacy. This became the foundation of faith for much of the Imperium at this point from various groups such as the Sisters of Battle.
