‘The higher we soar, the smaller we appear to those who can’t fly’

And most importantly who cares? I always prided myself in using technology judiciously. The trick was to use ‘it’ without letting it use you. In a world filled with passwords and OTPs, people are still getting ripped off. Just this morning I heard about a ‘techie’ being swindled of `97 lakh by an online scammer. The first thought that crossed my mind was… ‘How does he have all that money?!’

I was determined to give my brain some cultural respite so a friend and I toodled off to see danseuse, Sharmila Mukherjee’s adaption of Tchaikovsky’s ballet, Swan-Lake. Choreographed by Sharmila, the Odissi ballet was titled ‘Hansika.’ The flawless performances by the artists, the costumes, the lighting and the haunting strains of Tchaikovsky’s familiar music mixed with the Prachalita talas were breathtakingly magical. As an artiste myself, my heart ached to be on stage again…

My friend Madhav Sehgal had a reason to celebrate as the popular ‘speakeasy-bar’ at the Leela Palace ‘ZLB23’, won a bunch of accolades once again. So he invited a few of his friends to celebrate with some outstanding cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and the best live jazz band in Bangalore. Swaying to retro-jazz with familiar lyrics was such a high!

The higher we soar, the smaller we appear to those who can’t fly!
