Merchant Types

The Palworld character is looking at two different merchants.

While there are two types of merchants found in Palworld, there are 3 merchants you can find. The first two are the Wandering Merchants, who have various essential supplies. Their inventory includes (but is not limited to) medicine, organs, schematics, and more. Both will have different items from one another.

The second type of merchant is the Pal Merchant. You can purchase Pals from them for a hefty price. However, you can also sell Pals to them as well. You’ll typically find the Pal Merchants in settlements or alongside a Wandering Merchant. Some Wandering Merchants can be found wandering into your base or traveling through the regions.

Locations Of Merchants

The Palworld character is showing the location of the Forgotten Island merchant.

Some merchants have fixed locations. Luckily, most of these places have a fast-travel statue nearby.

It is unclear yet whether the supplies merchants have changed with time, though some of the Pal Merchant supplies seem to be randomized when they restock.

You will want to keep an eye on the amount of gold you have, which you can either see in your inventory or at the bottom right of the purchase screen when speaking to the merchants. The merchant prices, especially the Pal Merchant, can be pretty expensive.

Forgotten Island

The Palworld character found the traveling merchants on the beach of Forgotten Island.

On Forgotten Island, you can find a merchant set up along the northeast beach. Here, you’ll find the Wandering Merchant as well as the Pal Merchant sitting next to each other with a wagon and two fires.

The Wandering Merchant should have a few different schematics, medical supplies, arrows, ingredients, seeds, organs and a few other items. The coordinates for these merchants are -400, 20.

Duneshelter

The Palworld character found the Duneshelter Civilization and merchants within it.

Heading northeast and through the desert, you’ll find a civilization at Duneshelter. There will be three merchants here, two Wandering Merchants and one Pal Merchant.

One of the Wandering Merchants will sell items such as shirts, armor, schematics, ammo, and a musket. The other merchant sells various skill fruits, medical supplies, food, and crafting materials. The coordinates for this location are 359, 349.

Fisherman’s Point

The Palworld character found merchants at Fisherman's Point in Mount Obsidian.

In the southwest area of the map, you will find Mount Obsidian. On the south side of Mount Obsidian there will be a beach area where you can find Fisherman’s Point. Here there will be two merchants on opposite sides of the dock.

One will have the ring of flame resistance, fire crossbow, ammo, armor, and more. The other merchant will have various skill fruit, medical supplies, food, and materials. If you head to the lower level of the dock towards the sea, you will find the Pal Merchant here as well. On your map, the coordinates for Fisherman’s Point are -478, -738.

Small Settlement

The Palworld character found a Wandering Merchant at the Small Settlement.

You can find the Small Settlement not far from the Plateau of Beginnings where you originally spawned. It will be near the Rayne Syndicate Tower Entrance. At this settlement, you can find one of the Wandering Merchants inside one of the small buildings on the ledge of a cliff.

As usual, you can purchase some schematics, seeds, medical supplies, food, and more from him. Coming from the spawn tower and into the village, go past the elevated structure, and the Pal Merchant can be found in the first building on your right. The coordinates for this settlement are 88, -489.

Marsh Island Church Ruins

The Palworld character found the merchants not far from the Marsh Island Church Ruins.

These next ones can be found at the bottom of the cliff behind Marsh Island Church Ruins. They will be standing along the beach next to one another with a wagon. The Pal Merchant will have a variety of Pals you can purchase for an inflated price. As usual, the merchant in the red jacket will have medical supplies, food, seeds, organs, and more. These merchants will be at the coordinates 435, -273.

Attacking The Merchants

The Palworld character is attacking the Wandering Merchant.

It is possible to kill the merchants, but once you attack them, they will defend themselves. They may be a higher level than you as many are level 30. Whether the merchant was accidentally hit by your Pal’s attack or if you just wanted to see what would happen, be prepared to fight.

If there’s another merchant nearby, they won’t help their fellow merchant unless you attack them too. After the merchant goes down, you will receive various amounts of gold.

Respawn & Impact

The Palworld character killed the merchants, receiving over 400 in gold, then the merchants respawned the next day.

It will take until the next day for the merchant to respawn again. Luckily, they won’t remember anything, and you can go on to purchase items from them again. Your indiscretion also won’t impact any trading with other merchants.

Merchants aren’t the only NPCs you’ll encounter in Palworld. If you see other humans in the game, our guides for how to catch humans and, subsequently, how to lower wanted level may come in handy!
