Like A Dragon Gaiden: Best Teammates For Coliseum

The Coliseum in Like A Dragon Gaiden is a perfect way for the game to showcase its smooth, sharp combat system that allows players to compete against enemies to prove themselves as legendary fighters. And better yet, you won’t have to do it completely alone, as the game allows you to bring teammates with you into the fray to help you get through each round of combat. As long as you are not in a one-on-one duel with an enemy, you can call on these characters to jump into the mix and help either take out your foes, or just keep you alive to do so.

You will be given a pretty good variety of teammates that you can call upon. However, not all of them are going to be your best bet for help. This is why it is important to know which teammates are going to give you the best chances of getting through the scuffle alive.

Excellent Sujiya

Quick & Agile Wrestler

Like A Dragon Gaiden - Excellent Sujiya

Don’t let his muscly figure fool you: this former professional wrestler may be beefy, but his attacks are quick, and he is an agile teammate in the arena. Better yet, his quick attacks are not negated by low damage output; Sujiya can hit hard and deal some good damage to enemies. He also brings the ability to not get knocked down, which is also transferred to his allies in the ring.

While Sujiya isn’t going to take on mass swarms of enemies like some other entries on this list, he is still a reliable option that will help you deal good damage and keep you upright as you fight your way to victory.

Katsuwo

Excellent Healer

Like A Dragon Gaiden - Katsuwo

Katsuwo is not a teammate that is going to be helping to deal damage. Instead, his utility comes from his healing abilities. He uses abilities, such as Raise the Roof, that will consistently keep allies’ health up, which can be useful in a tight battle. The only issue comes from his lack of durability, meaning you will have to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn’t go down too soon.

However, his nimbleness and speed will help him evade most attacks so that you can focus on dealing the damage yourself. Just be aware and check in on him every now and then.

Koji Shiranita

Great At Attacking Large Groups

Like A Dragon Gaiden - Koji Shiranita

Koji Shiranita is a big guy, and that is reflected in his fighting style, throwing his weight around the arena to create a wrecking ball of a tank. Thanks to his size, his durability is very high, as is his health, so you won’t have to worry about him going down anytime soon in a fight. His Heat Ability, Berserker, increases all of these things to make him an even more powerful force to be reckoned with.

Utilize Koji when you are going to be taking on large groups of enemies so that he can take care of a good handful of them for you.

Masaharu Kaito

Great Tank, Draws Enemy Attention

Like A Dragon Gaiden - Masaharu Kaito

This Tank character is self-explanatory simply from his title of being a Tank. His brawler-type fighting style allows him to exert his raw strength against enemies to dish out superior damage, even when the opponents maybe more technically skilled with their finesse. You can even use his loud, obnoxious style to distract enemies away from you, rendering Masaharu as somewhat of a shield for you to keep your defenses up. He can also utilize his grappling abilities to throw enemies around the arena.

Try to use him for any fights that involve taking on a large mob of enemies so that he can tank them all, draw their attention and keep you alive while you pepper them with damage.

Toru Higashi

Deadly Dagger, High Health, Self-Healer

Like A Dragon Gaiden - Toru Higashi

There is a case that can be made for Toru Higashi being the best Tank in the entire game. Toru will always be taking enemies head-on, using his strength to overpower enemies and also his technical skill with a dagger to deal good damage. He can take a lot of enemies out in not a lot of time, so having him around is always a good thing.

Even more, however, is that he can heal his already high health pool, meaning that he will keep himself alive, letting you focus on other things.
