Photo mode is an often requested feature in modern games, and it’s one that I personally enjoy immensely. For better or worse, you’ll likely find Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s photo mode a little simplistic. While this does make for a streamlined experience, it lacks many of the bells and whistles that allow you to make shots truly your own. However, its presence is very welcome, and we have everything you need to know to get you started!

How Do You Access Photo Mode In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

The game doesn’t really advertise where to find the photo mode button. In order to get the perfect shot, you’ll need to pause the game. You’ll see photo mode marked with the square prompt. Just hit square and you’re ready to start customizing your photo!

How Do You Adjust Settings In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s Photo Mode

You’ll be able to customize certain aspects of the photo, such as frame, filter, exposure, camera angle, tilt, and the overall camera’s positioning. While your selection of filters will be fairly limited at the start of the game, you’ll unlock more as you progress through the main story.

The triangle button will allow you to hide the menu overlay, giving you a clear shot of your screen without any user interface.

Can You Use Photo Mode During Cinematics in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

This is a tricky one, because my experience while writing the review was incredibly mixed. During some very lengthy cutscenes, I wouldn’t have access to photo mode when pausing the menu. However, there were times when I could access photo mode, especially during shorter scenes. It would have been great to always have access to photo mode.

When taking a photo during a cinematic, it’s impossible to change settings like tilt and camera angle.
