How To Apply Infusions

lustrate infusion in nightingale

Infusions can only be applied to Uncommon, Rare, and Epic rarity items. To upgrade an item from Common to Uncommon and above, you’ll need an Upgrade Bench. The first Upgrade Bench you’ll get access to is the Simple Upgrade Bench, which is unlocked by buying the recipe from an Essence Trader in any Provisioner Realm for 10 T1 Essence.

Once you have an Upgrade Bench’s recipe, build it in your base and upgrade your common items to uncommon by combining the item with 40 T1 Essence. You’ll need to do some farming for T1 Essence before you’re able to upgrade everything.

Uncommon items have one empty slot for infusions that can be applied to them. Rares have two, and Epics have three. Making higher base variants (Simple -> Refined -> Excellent) doesn’t raise the base rarity of that item. You will need an Upgrade Bench for that.

Make sure the equipment you’re upgrading to Uncommon is made using rarer materials. Plant Fibre (Crude) and Plant Fibre (Bound Bristle) will both be able to make the same shirt, but the gear score will be vastly different.

Once you’re ready with T1 Essence and Common Equipment, you want to upgrade:

  1. Select the Infusion you want to apply.
  2. Right-Click the Infusion to bring up the context menu.
  3. Click on ‘Apply’.
  4. Select the item you want to apply the Infusion to, click on the empty slot in the right menu, and select ‘Apply Infusion’ (R).

The active Infusion will appear under the ‘Magickal’ section of the item’s description, visible when you hover over it. In this case, that’s Poison Resistance+.

How To Craft Infusions

To make Infusions, players will first need to unlock the recipe of that Infusion by exploring the realms and then craft it at an Enchanter’s Focus. Better crafting stations equal access to a better pool of base infusions you can craft from the get-go. Here is how it works.

  1. Craft an Enchanter’s Focus.
  2. Interact with it and scroll down to the section that says ‘Infusions’.
  3. Select the ‘Infusion’ you like and put in 25 Essence to craft that Infusion.
  4. You can use T1, T2, or T3 Essence to craft any infusion. Higher tier Essence will result in a better infusion.

As an example, the Resolve Infusion (Stamina Efficiency) grants 5% Stamina Efficiency when crafted using T1 Essence, 10% when using T2 Essence, and 15% when using T3 Essence. The recipe is the same, but the effectiveness is vastly different. The rarity of the Enchanter’s Focus doesn’t seem to affect the output.
