Hades is both on the island and in the battle pass. He is one of Fortnite’s latest bosses here to test your skills on the battlefield. If you manage to take him down, you’ll be rewarded with a medallion and a mythic item. Fortunately, we have everything you need to know about this powerful foe right here!

Hades Boss Location

If you’re looking to take on Hades, you’ll need to head to The Underworld. Bosses work a little differently in Chapter 5 Season 2. In the past, bosses would patrol a location with their henchmen. This made it very easy to accidentally trigger a boss or be overwhelmed by their minions. This season changed all of that. When you’re in The Underworld, you’ll want to look for a pedestal with a statue of Hades on it. When you interact with the statue, your character will throw the statue on the ground to summon the boss.

If you’re looking to drop on the Underworld to take down Hades, be prepared for a real fight. The new locations house Olympus and Underworld Chests, which are guaranteed to drop some pretty good loot for players. In addition to that, players will be seeking out the new bosses for their medallions and mythic weapons. All of this is to say that you should stay alert when venturing into these new areas. As more and more quests require players to interact with these zones, things will probably continue to heat up from here.

How To Beat Hades

Boss fights have also been revamped for Chapter 5 Season 2. Once you trigger the boss, you will face three unique stages of the fight. During the first two phases, Hades will send his minions after you. While they aren’t very sturdy, their attacks can add up. Take them down quickly to avoid being overwhelmed. You want to go into the fight with Hades with your health and shields as full as possible. In stage three, Hades himself will join the fight. At this point, you want to ignore the minions and focus solely on Hades. Once you defeat Hades, the minions will disappear as well. You’ll want to watch out for Hades’ chain attack, as it will grab you from afar and pull you in close.

When fighting Hades and his minions, be sure to move to the back of the arena. Keep your back facing the wall. Sometimes other players will camp boss sites and wait for unsuspecting players to trigger the boss fight before attacking. Keeping your back to the wall will prevent other players from sneaking up on you.

Rewards For Defeating Hades

Hades will drop his medallion and a mythic version of the Harbinger SMG. The medallions this season each have a unique ability. The ability associated with Hades’ medallion is Siphon upon elimination. So, you’ll restore some of your vitality every time you get an elimination while holding Hades’ medallion. It’s an extremely valuable ability that can give you a lot of survivability as a match drags on. Don’t forget that you can carry more than one medallion and benefit from all of their different abilities.

With the recent changes to medallions, you might be tempted to stack as many as you can on your character. While that’s certainly a viable strategy, and it will give you a whole lot of power, make note that your visibility on the map increases with every medallion. So, if you were to have all four medallions, players would be able to pinpoint your exact location and come after you. However, with so much power, you may not be worried about being hunted by rival players.
