What Are Medals Of Valor

The Medal Of Valor - Midnight Raven In Inventory

A Medal Of Valor is obtained after completing a boss fight without taking any damage at all. After completing a boss without taking damage, a unique Medal Of Valor will be added to your inventory, listing the achievement and which boss it’s from. There is a unique Medal for many bosses in the game, with players able to collect them all by obtaining each Medal against each boss.

This can be done at any difficulty, and they do carry over and can be obtained in New Game Plus. Obtaining multiple is not required, but there are many to obtain, with players able to collect all 15 of them for ultimate bragging rights and proof this game is not the boss of them. The bosses that reward a medal are:

  • Midnight Raven
  • Benedikta
  • Garuda
  • The Knight Of The Dying Sun
  • Ifrit
  • Typhon
  • War Panter
  • Liquid Flame
  • Kupka
  • Titan
  • Bahamut
  • Sleipnir
  • Barnabas
  • Behemoth
  • Ultima

Tricks To Obtaining Medals Of Valor

Final Fantasy 16 QTE

Many of these boss fights have multiple stages, with players needed to not take any damage through each stage. For those looking to obtain every Medal Of Valor in the game or just get the trophy and leave, first equip either the Ring Of Timely Evasion or Ring Of Timely Focus. These will help slow combat down and make sure dodges happen and Clive takes no damage.

These Medals carry over through New Game Plus, and can also be obtained through the Stage Replay option in the Arete Stone. Many recommended these Medals are obtained while completing the main story, as players can save right before a boss fight to reload and retry as often as needed.
