DD2 has many ways for players to strengthen their characters as they progress thro ugh the game. While leveling up and ranking up a Vocation offer a clear boost in stats or stronger skills, rings act a bit differently and will require some choice.

Players can only equip two rings at a time despite there being dozens to choose from. While every ring offers a noticeable bonus in one aspect of your character, it’s important to choose the best ring that fits your build.

10 Ring Of Regeneration

Get HP On Kills

• Lifesteal on kills.
• Pairs well with Vocations with large AOE attacks.

While this ring is equipped, players will earn life each time an enemy is defeated. This ring is incredible when fighting groups of weaker enemies in the open world and will make healing items and magicks much less necessary.

This ring does fall behind as it offers no benefits when fighting bosses or large monsters. Rings can be equipped and unequipped at any time, making it very worthwhile to hold onto this ring and use it while exploring and taking it off before facing a boss.

9 Ring Of Vehemence

Stagger & Knock Down Enemies Quicker

• Stagger larger enemies quicker.
• Does rely on Stagger-heavy playstyle and Vocation.

The Ring Of Vehemence increases the player’s Knockdown Power, which either knocks down smaller enemies or staggers larger monsters, leaving them to be pushed over. Knockdown Power excels when focused on certain Vocations but is still a worthwhile bonus in just about all.

Knocking down larger monsters is the easiest way to get to their weak spot while also letting players fight them in a location where Weapon Skills can be used to maximize damage. Knocked-down enemies will also increase the damage Pawns do, offering much higher bonuses than just climbing an enemy on your own.

8 Ring Of Resiliency

Receive Less Incoming Damage

The Ring Of Resiliency offers a straight boost to physical defense. While it won’t help against magick damage, the majority of damage received in the game will be physical, making this ring’s use outweigh others like it.

Depending on where you’re at and your chosen Vacation, the benefits of this ring can offer a very noticeable boost in overall defense. If you’re a defensive character like a Fighter, this ring will only push your defense higher and make you unstoppable.

7 Ring Of Aggression

Take Down Your Enemies Quickly

• Increased physical damage.
• Only benefits melee Vocations.

The Ring of Aggression boosts a player’s Strength, increasing damage on melee-focused Vocations. While this isn’t as helpful with spell-casters, more Vocations focus on melee fighting, giving this ring a much wider use throughout the game.

While increasing your other stats in battle is helpful, players won’t need to worry about their defense or health if they are quickly taking down their enemies. While the benefits of this ring may slow down later in the game, it’s a worthwhile wear for much of the game for a noticeable boost in damage.

6 Ring Of Endeavor

Rank Up Your Vocation & Unlock New Skills Quickly

• Earn DCP faster.
• Should be used early in the game or when trying out a new Vocation.

Disciple, or DCP, is earned when players defeat enemies and act as XP but for your Vacation. DCP is then used to unlock additional Vocations, along with the Weapon Skills and Augments from them, making it a very necessary resource.

While the Ring Of Endeavor is equipped, players will earn much more DCP with every kill. While players will eventually surpass any needed DCP, this ring is very useful early on when trying out various vocations and unlocking some of the best Augments for your final build.

5 Ring Of Recitation

Cast Devestating Spells Quicker

• Quicker cast time for spell-casters.
• Pairs well with a Fighter to take enemy attention.

The Ring Of Recitation makes casting spells quicker but also lowers the player’s health. While there is a bit of risk and reward, the lower health of a magick-focused character shouldn’t be as big of a deal as long as they focus on having the right party members to tank incoming damage.

Increasing your carry capacity can be done by finding Golden Trove Beetles, but this can be a tedious process with only slight results over time. This ring offers a much quicker and noticeable bonus, and can be a ring players use for most of a playthrough.

3 Ring Of Quickening

• Increases Stamina regeneration.
• Pairs well with the Zeal Augment to maximize Stamina usage.

The Ring Of Quickening acts exactly as its name implies, making the character quicker through faster Stamina regeneration. Stamina is a key resource in and out of combat. While it can determine how long a player can sprint for, Weapon Skills also utilize Stamina.

Every Vocation’s Weapon Skills utilize Stamina, with it quickly being drained in combat. While a higher max Stamina helps leading up to a fight, Stamina Recovery will offer a much more noticeable bonus during combat when it’s needed most.

2 Ring Of Triumph

Increase Multiple Stats At Once

• Same benefits as three lower-tier rings all in one.
• Can be obtained very early in the game.

The Ring of Triumph increases a player’s Health, Stamina, and Carry Capacity. While they each aren’t a massive boost, this ring covers multiple stats that every Vocation will benefit from.

While finding Seeker Tokens can be a hassle, this ring is rewarded for only finding 15, which is a much more manageable number. 15 Seeker tokens early in the game are simple with the right map, and this ring offers the benefits of multiple levels early in the game.

1 Ring Of Ambition

Level Up Quickly

• Gain XP faster.
• Boost in XP is based on the earned amount, making large monsters even more useful to defeat.

Leveling up increases the player’s base stats, and depending on their Vocation, those stats will shift in various directions, shifting in others upon changing Vocations. Ultimately, your level determines how effective you are in combat, and this ring makes leveling up much easier.

Boosting all earned XP is useful at any point in a playthrough, as the max level is 999. This ring will quickly make players stronger and has incredibly high benefits over time. By wearing it, that outweighs the benefits of any other ring on this list stats-wise.
