Controlling Partner & Dependent Partner Weaknesses

The Controlling Partner & Dependant Partner Affinities

This fight can be difficult to get an All-Out Attack, as the affinities for these enemies vary greatly. The Controlling Partner will be the more difficult enemy, as it has no weaknesses and nulls Strike, Slash, Light, and Dark attacks. The Dependent Partner nulls all types of magic attacks but is weak to Piece attacks. The best party for this fight is the Protagonist, Yukari, Akihiko, and Aigis.

How To Defeat The Controlling Partner & Dependent Partner

Aigis Using Cruel Attack On A Downed Enemy

These enemies will help each other, giving healing and buffs to make the fight much more difficult. To make it easier, the first focus will be on the Dependent Partner. Have a Persona with a Pierce attack on the Protagonist and use that ability and Aigis’ Cruel Attack to deal lots of damage to the Dependent Partner when downed. Yukari’s bow will also offer additional pierce damage, but she’ll also need to focus on healing.

Have Akihiko lower the enemy’s attack with Tarunda whenever they buff it to keep their damage output reasonable while also trying to fish for critical attacks on the Controlling Partner with his physical abilities. Even if this doesn’t work, the damage from Cruel Attack will be multiplied on the downed enemy and eventually take out the weaker Dependent Partner.

After the Dependent Partner has been taken out, the Controlling Partner won’t act for the next two turns as it mourns the loss. This is an ideal time to use Aigis’ Theurgy and buff her attack to deal loads of damage to the Controlling Partner. Continue to utilize piece attacks to fish for critical hits while using All-Out Attacks when available, and this fight will be over soon.
