With the launch of Season 4 earlier this week, Call of Duty Mobile just got one of its most outlandish weapons blueprints yet. The Mythic MG42 features a weapon inspection that is truly like no over, showcasing a cinematic WWII-style cutscene that takes place on top of your gun. Yes, you read that right.
Season 4: Fool’s Gold kicked off on April 17, packed with a brand-new Battle Pass, a new weapon, the fan favourite RC-XD scorestreak, a new multiplayer mode, and much more. It’s another jam-packed season for COD Mobile, but the immensely popular first-person mobile shooter has gained attention online after releasing another wild weapon blueprint.

It’s time to stop getting angry at people for playing a team-based mode correctly.
Alongside the fact that this weapon inspect is just straight-up wild, especially for a mobile game, the audio for the weapon was even created by the legendary, award-winning composer Hans Zimmer. Seriously, whose idea was it go this hard on a weapon blueprint?
“As you land more eliminations within the match, the weapon’s flame and smoke effects intensify, a visual display of your hot streak. Vaporize enemies with its Death Effect, setting them aflame before evaporating into a cloud of smoke,” reads the official description on the Call of Duty website.
It will probably take you a minute to work out what the heck you’re looking at, but yes, that is the top of the MG42 LMG. From planes flying overhead to grenade explosions, there is quite literally a whole other war happening right on top of the weapon.
Unfortunately, unlike other Call of Duty titles, you can’t simply buy this weapon blueprint from the in-game store. Instead, COD Mobile has a slightly different system, one that is much more expensive and will require a plethora of COD Points.
Essentially, you’re going to need to purchase an abundance of Mythic Drop Crates to even have a chance at obtaining this blueprint. But as you unlock more crates, your chances increase as it’s not possible to receive duplicate rewards. It’s an expensive process, so make sure to ask yourself: is this wild weapon blueprint actually worth my real world money?
