Little Prince is quite effective if you manage to keep him away from distractions.

The amount of changes that Cannoneer will make in Clash Royale meta is unbelievable, and you will discover it as you try different decks in the new event. Suffice it to say that Hog Cycle and Mega Knight are no longer the nightmares they used to be. However, that opens up the path for decks and troops that used to be quite weak back in the day!

Best Decks For Cannoneer Launch Event Clash Royale 1

There is nothing crazy going on in the Cannoneer Launch event. Everything is the same as a Ranked match, but the only difference is that both players are forced to use Cannoneer as their crown tower defender.

Unlike the original tower archer which deals a small amount of damage with a higher fire rate, Cannoneer will bring the exact opposite. The new tower defender deals significantly higher damage compared to the archer, but it comes at the cost of a pretty low fire rate. To give you a good insight into this, Cannoneer can destroy a Magic Archer with only two shots, but instead, it takes him so long to deal with Bats that they can deal a huge chunk of damage to your towers on their own. Unfortunately, Cannoneer’s shots don’t have AOE damage, which makes it extremely weak against spam troops.

With that intro, you should probably learn by now that spam troops like Goblin Barrel, Skeleton Army, Minion Horder, and even Royale Hugs will now be deemed among meta units to counter Cannoneer, while Mega Knight and even Mini Pekka can be countered quite easily with less Elixir spent.

Deck 1:

  • Miner (Elixir 3)
  • The Log (Elixir 2)
  • Valkyrie (Elixir 4)
  • Magic Archer (Elixir 4)
  • Minion Horde (Elixir 5)
  • Fireball (Elixir 4)
  • Bats (Elixir 2)
  • Skeleton Army (Elixir 3)
  • Average Elixir Cost: 3.4

Deck 2:

  • Firecracker (Elixir 3) [Evolution Spot]
  • Electro Giant (Elixir 7)
  • Mother Witch (Elixir 4)
  • Electro Wizard (Elixir 4)
  • Baby Dragon (Elixir 4)
  • Guardians (Elixir 3)
  • Dark Prince (Elixir 4)
  • Arrows (Elixir 3)
  • Average Elixir Cost: 4.0

Not only does the first deck feature a significant amount of spam troops, but it also has cards that counter spams easily. With the Cannoneer’s arrival, Valkyrie is going to play a crucial role in most decks, thanks to her exceptional ability to deal with any kind of ground spam. The Log is also quite useful in the same scenario, while Magic Archer almost does the same task for airborne spam.

The second deck, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to have many spams except for Guardians, but it does feature tons of counters for both spam and heavy units. This is a defensive deck, where you might not be able to push heavily forward, but you can defend your side excellently. Even the Electro Giant with its 7-Elixir price could be a great defender in this deck to distract the opponent’s attackers and use the power of Cannoneer and other troops at your disposal to neutralize the threats just in time.

The Cannoneer Launch event will be around until next week, with a challenge version of it releasing this weekend with more Season Tokens to win.
